Maurizio Martorana is a London-based Visual Journalist, Photographer and Filmmaker.

He holds an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication. He previously studied Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology at Università degli Studi di Firenze and Université Côte d'Azur.

After finishing university he has been working as a freelance in Europe and countries such as Mali, South Africa and Sudan, publishing articles and pictures for various international news outlets and NGOs. In 2019, following a story he worked on in Rome, he was a recipient of the EU Migration Media Award, which allowed him to pursue his work in Berlin.

Maurizio is a member of the NUJ (National Union of Journalists) and the IFJ (International Federation of Journalists); he has completed a HEAT course with SEPAR International and has also gained two qualifications from Adobe
